Sitting on a prominent corner of North Davidson Street, this 60,000 square foot former textile mill was constructed in 1951 and produced knitwear clothing.  The historic brick building, now owned by the Godley Development Company, was successfully purchased, renovated and subdivided for multi-tenant use by Charlotte developer Thomas Barnes in 2003.

Special renovation features, in keeping with the industrial design of the period, include several elevated monitor skylight roof sections.  One provides exceptional natural light for a collection of artists’ studios and surrounding gallery.  A second covers an inspirational dance and theater rehearsal space.  And a third creates an atrium through the core of the building, complete with five huge planters for indoor tropical plants.

The renovated building appeals to an eclectic group of users with its loft-style spaces, open floor plans, and high ceilings.  Tenants include an arts group, an architecture firm, a construction company, and a wine wholesaler.
