Meet Our Staff

• Julie Smith, Preservation Planner

  Julie started working with Historic Charlotte part-time in March 2011 and became the Preservation Planner in July 2011.  Though born in Charlotte, she grew up in Winston-Salem, where she honed her love for historic architecture visiting friends in the Victorian Era West End Historic District and later interning with Old Salem Museums and Gardens.  She received her undergraduate degree from N.C. State University.  Julie later continued her education with a double Masters in Historic Preservation and Architectural History from Savannah College of Art and Design. In her spare time she enjoys running in Myers Park and spending time with her two nieces.
