Charlotte Mid-Century: A Celebration of Mid-Century Modern Style

For the first time, Historic Charlotte will concentrate a month of events, exhibits and lectures on the architecture and style from the 1950s to the 1970s, focusing on some of Charlotte’s most interesting and enduring Mid-Century Modern homes and businesses.'

Opening Reception at Kugler Studios - May 7

The 2009 Artevation (Preservation + Art) exhibit will feature Mid-Century Modern architecture and design photographs for sale from the Kugler archives, and other photographers. The event is open to the public and will also celebrate the publication of Ken Beebe’s limited edition book - Vintage Charlotte.

Guided Center City Mid-Century Modern Walking Tour - May 7

Led by Tom Hanchett of the Levine Museum of the New South and UNC Charlotte School of Architecture Students.

Meet at Levine Lobby at 5:30PM.

$8 non members and $5 for HCI, Levine Museum and Trolley members and Students.
